About
About Loonfeather
A local news website and companion podcast reporting on Ville-Émard, Saint-Henri and the streets around them, with an advertising desk that sells its own placements.
Who we are
Who we are
Loonfeather began as a written community page and grew a companion podcast once readers started asking to hear, not just read, what was happening on their block. The written site and the audio show are produced by the same small team, operating as MÉDIAS GRIFFINTOWN INC., and every advertising placement sold here is booked and produced in-house.
We are not affiliated with any citywide network or broadcaster. Our focus stays narrow on purpose: the streets we can actually walk and the businesses we can actually visit before we write about them or sell them a placement.
The name comes from the loon's reflection on still water — a mirror image that is exact, not decorative. That is the idea behind pairing a web placement with its podcast counterpart: the same message, in two formats, rather than two different pitches.
What we do
What we do
The written site carries local reporting and a community page; the podcast covers the same ground in a weekly conversation format. Advertising runs alongside both, in three placements:
- Neighbourhood Listing
A 30-day listing on our Ville-Émard and Saint-Henri community page with your logo, a short description and a link.
- Mirrored Mention Pair
A matched pair of placements: a two-week sidebar on news pages and two host-read podcast mentions carrying the same message.
- Reflection Season Package
Six weeks of paired web and audio presence with three newsletter credits and one partner-labelled seasonal guide article.
Where we are
Where we are
Loonfeather is registered at 5548, ST.PATRICK, MONTREAL, QC H4E 1A9 and covers Ville-Émard, Saint-Henri, Côte-Saint-Paul, Monk Boulevard and the Turcot corridor. The office sits on St. Patrick Street, close enough to Saint-Henri and Ville-Émard that most of our reporting and advertiser visits happen on foot or by a short drive rather than across the wider city. If you'd rather speak to someone before booking, our contact page has our details and hours.
Who provides the work
Who provides the services

Editor and podcast host
Handles reporting, the weekly episode, and the editorial line that keeps advertising separate from coverage.

Advertising coordinator
Handles bookings, creative deadlines, invoicing and the point of contact once a placement is confirmed.
Both roles are filled by people based at the registered office, not by a remote or outsourced desk. When you write in to book a placement, the person who replies is the same person who will oversee your booking through to the closing report.

How we work
How we work
Approach
Coverage and advertising are planned separately; a paid placement never determines what gets reported.
Quality control
Every sidebar, listing and script is checked against the details you send before it goes to print or air.
Communication
One person stays the point of contact for a booking from confirmation through to the closing summary.
We keep the same three placements on offer rather than customizing a new package for every request, because a fixed rate card is easier for an advertiser to plan around and easier for us to deliver consistently — the difference between a business's second booking and its fifth is usually just the dates, not the format.
